An animated film “Dastaan-e-Miri Piri” has stirred controversy before its release.

Following complaints against the film, Akal Takht’s acting Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has directed the SGPC to probe the matter and tell the makers of the film not to release it before getting a nod from it.

The film was scheduled to be released on June 4. Its title track is currently being played on social media. It has shown animated version of sixth Guru, which is against the principles of the Sikh religion. Even the imaginary version of Gurus is not allowed.

Jathedar’s personal secretary Jaspal Singh said the makers had been conveyed to get the approval before releasing the film as many complaints had been received against it.
