Several prominent Indian celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Diana Penty, Huma Qureshi and Mallika Sherawat among others have taken the red carpet of Cannes Film Festival by storm this year. While their fashion picks have earned nods from critics across the globe, television actor Hina Khan made her debut at the prestigious film festival and presented the poster of her first film, Lines.

But while Hina Khan-starrer has earned attention already, a poster of another Bollywood film has been unveiled at the festival this year. Titled San 84 Justice, the film revolves around the lives of Sikh families and how they were affected during PM Indira Gandhi’s assassination in 1984. Directed by Rahul Rawail ad written by Sandeep Kumar, the film stars Ashish Sahdev in a key role.

The film has been produced by the Mujeeb ul Hassan, who has previously produced Mantostan. The film’s producers and executive producers Ajit Nanda, Parsuram Patri and Pushipinder Chaudhary, Director UKAFF,  London, were all present when the poster was launched at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival.

The poster, which depicts a photo frame featuring a Sikh family has a quote from the French novelist Emile Zola as, “Trust & Justice, so ardently longed for! How terrible it is to see them trampled and ignored.”

Ashish, who is making his Bollywood debut with the film, is elated over the response. In a statement, the actor has said, “I am so happy that I get to showcase my work so early on in my career. San 84 Justice is a sensitive film and audiences will be touched by the performances.”
