New Delhi, January 1
Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) president Paramjit Singh Sarna today appealed to all the DSGMC members across the party line to think of Panth while exercising their franchise during executive members elections to be held on January 19.
He asked them not to vote in favour of any candidate under pressure giving indication towards SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.
General secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa invited all members on Monday for a meeting of general house of the committee to be held on January 19 to elect the executive members under the monitoring of the Directorate of Gurdwara Elections.
Sarna said, “Jan 19 offers a moment of reckoning. You have to look inward, give a thought while voting into the Sikh religious offices. You’ll be watched world over. Your conduct will illustrate how much respect you cherish in your hearts for Sri Guru Granth Sahib and for the sacred Guru Dhams.”
“Anyone loyal to the indicted perpetrators of beadbi in Bargari cannot be worthy of leading the Sikhs of Delhi. Anyone tainted by charges of corruption at the Guru Ghar — now or before — cannot be given power to plunder the gurdwara exchequer again,” Sarna noted.
He said, “The SADD would welcome DSGMC members with open arms provided they decide to shun those who were accused in Bargari and against whom allegations of corruption were levelled.”
