SGPC Extends Invite To Imran For Nagar Kirtan || SNE

The SGPC has extended invitation to Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan and others for participating in its international nagar kirtan beginning from Gurdwara Nankana Sahib in Pakistan on July 25.
Besides Imran Khan, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal informed on Tuesday That the SGPC had also extended invitation to Pakistan Punjab’s governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, Pakistan Punjab’s chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Evacuee Trust Property Board chairman Amir Ahmad and PSGPC president Tara Singh.
He said the SGPC had also sent its first list of persons to the Pakistan High Commission for issuance of visas so that they could visit Pakistan to make arrangements for the international nagar kirtan.”This advance party will ensure that all preparations were made as per the Sikh maryada,” he stated.
Longowal on Tuesday held a meeting with SGPC officials to discuss the international nagar kirtan. He said the SGPC was not only making preparation for the international nagar kirtan but it had also begun a process of facilitating devotees in getting visas to visit Pakistan. The SGPC would also send a nagara(membranophone), along with nagarachi, ragi jatha, etc., to Pakistan, the SGPC president added.
The SGPC will hold three seminars in Pakistan to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. “The SGPC’s chief secretary, Dr Roop Singh, has already held discussions regarding seminars with Pakistan Punjab’s governor as well as with Sikh scholars,” said Longowal. He said the SGPC had also written a letter to Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh for the welcome of international nagar kirtan upon its arrival at Attari border. He added that the SGPC had also urged him to get the required police and administrative arrangements in place for the nagar kirtan.
