Windsor Sikh Youth has launched its eight annual food and clothing drive.The two collection drives have been arranged in collaboration with the Sikh Cultural Society of Metropolitan Windsor.
Organizers are collecting non-perishable food items including canned soup and vegetables, pasta, oatmeal, cereal, vegetable oil, rice, flour and peanut butter.
Food can be dropped off at Windsor Gurdwara, the Sikh place of worship at 7955 County Road 42, until 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 11.The collected food will be given to the Unemployed Help Centre’s food bank.
The clothing drive will continue to the end of January, with all items sent to Goodwill on Feb. 1. Organizers are looking for winter coats, sweaters, blankets, jackets, pants, shirts, gloves, socks and scarves among other items.
